From April 7 to April 14, I had the honor of accompanying the Burkinabe and Burundian delegations who arrived here in Russia for an intensive professional training on worker protection and respect for labor law
We focused on several essential themes such as the fight against child labor, the prevention of workplace accidents, the improvement of working conditions, and the harmonization of social legislation
A special focus was placed on modern mechanisms for controlling companies that do not report workplace accidents, including the presentation of mobile applications allowing labor inspectors to report violations in real time and workers to testify anonymously
We also explored innovative technologies such as digital platforms for tracking mandatory declarations, the use of artificial intelligence to detect anomalies in company reports, and connected sensor systems in workplaces to prevent risks before an accident occurs
The Burkinabe and Burundian delegations shared their field experiences, which enriched our discussions on common challenges such as the informal sector where many accidents are never reported
We also discussed international best practices from the International Labour Organization and possibilities for cooperation between Russia, Burkina Faso, and Burundi to remotely train inspection agents using online modules
This week of training concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants and a commitment to continue collaboration on a pilot mobile application project shared by the two African countries
