I am in Saint Petersburg with the Chadian delegation as the translator for the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassador of Chad to the Russian Federation at the Russia-Africa Forum.
The Russia-Africa Forum represents one of the most significant platforms for dialogue between the Russian Federation and African nations, bringing together heads of state, ministers, business leaders, and civil society representatives to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties. Saint Petersburg, with its historical significance and world-class infrastructure, provided an ideal setting for this high-level diplomatic gathering.
The Chadian delegation, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and accompanied by Chad's Ambassador to Russia, participated actively in discussions covering bilateral cooperation, trade partnerships, security collaboration, and development assistance. My role as official translator enabled these crucial conversations, providing interpretation from French to Russian and vice versa throughout plenary sessions, bilateral meetings, and informal networking events.
This assignment demanded not only linguistic precision but also deep understanding of diplomatic protocols, geopolitical dynamics, and the specific interests both nations sought to advance. Successfully facilitating communication between Chad's top diplomats and their Russian counterparts contributed directly to strengthening the partnership between our countries—work that fills me with professional pride and patriotic satisfaction.
